Signing of the coalition agreement

On May 5, 2025, the coalition agreement between the CDU of Germany, the CSU and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) was signed in the Gasometer.

The leaders of their parties Friedrich Merz, Dr. Markus Söder, Lars Klingbeil and Saskia Esken sealed the new governing coalition. Around 800 guests gathered in the Gasometer, including all participants in the negotiating committees.

The EUREF-Campus, a symbol of innovation and sustainability, provided a fitting setting for this important political event with its historic gasometer. The choice of this location underlines the coalition partners’ joint efforts to actively shape future topics such as the energy transition and digitalization.
