The leadership of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag gathered at the EUREF-Campus for their joint closed-door meeting. The focus of the meeting was on assessing the political situation after about a year in government.

Plenary Session & Conference in the Werkstatt
In the Werkstatt, members of the parliamentary group’s executive committee debated a position paper on the urgency of economic reforms: health and budget policy, tax and labor market reform, and pension reform were the three reform measures that parliamentary group leader Jens Spahn urged.

A discussion with Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz on the general political situation was scheduled for the evening. The special guest was European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who traveled to the meeting specifically for this purpose. CSU State Group Leader Alexander Hoffmann rounded out the leadership panel.

Press Conference – EUREF-Plaza
Following the event, Friedrich Merz, Jens Spahn, and Alexander Hoffmann addressed the press at EUREF-Plaza. Against the striking backdrop of the gasometer, the party leaders spoke to the invited press.
